The Veragua Foundation was constituted on February 5th, 2013. Its legal domicile is in the ecotourism park known as The Veragua Rainforest, located in the tropical rainforest of Limón, Costa Rica. Its administrative office is in the capital city of San José, Costa Rica.

Our mission is to encourage, promote and finance research on the flora and fauna of the tropical rainforest and make contributions that benefit the well-being and sustainable development of the communities surrounding the protected wildlands.

We aim to contribute to Costa Rica’s commitments to the United Nations’ 2030 agenda for sustainable development, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and the Convention on Biological Diversity.
